These terms set out how you can use Quick-Reg and what you can expect from the service.

Acceptance of terms

By accessing and using Quick-Reg ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Service.

Description of the service

Quick-Reg provides UK vehicle registration checks using data from the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service. The Service lets you:

  • Check a vehicle using its registration number
  • See its tax status, MOT status and the vehicle details held by the DVLA
  • Create an account to post about a registration, rate it and react to other people's posts

We limit how many checks each visitor and each account can make per day.

User accounts

You need an account to use some features of the Service. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current and complete information when you register
  • Keep your account information up to date
  • Keep your password and account secure
  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
  • Tell us immediately about any unauthorised use of your account

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in line with these terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorised purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
  • Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
  • Attempt to reverse engineer the Service or extract data beyond normal use
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse or harm others
  • Break any applicable laws or regulations

Community posts and ratings

You are responsible for the posts, ratings and reactions you add. Posts are shown publicly with your name. They must not be unlawful, abusive or misleading, and must not include other people's personal information. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms.

Data accuracy and limitations

We aim to show accurate information from the DVLA, but:

  • We cannot guarantee that all data is accurate, complete or up to date
  • DVLA data may contain delays or errors at the source
  • We cache DVLA responses for up to 24 hours, so details can be up to a day old
  • You should confirm important information through official channels, such as GOV.UK
  • We are not responsible for decisions made based on the information provided

Intellectual property

The Service and its original content, features and functionality are owned by Quick-Reg and are protected by international copyright, trade mark, patent, trade secret and other intellectual property laws.

Vehicle data comes from the DVLA and remains the property of the UK government. Quick-Reg is an independent service and is not run by the DVLA.

Privacy

Please read our privacy policy, which also applies to your use of the Service and explains how we handle your information.

Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, updates or circumstances beyond our control.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quick-Reg shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill or other intangible losses.

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Quick-Reg and its affiliates from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt arising from your use of the Service or your breach of these terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including a breach of these terms. On termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.

Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Changes to these terms

We may modify or replace these terms at any time. If a change is material, we will give at least 30 days' notice before the new terms take effect.
